About Us

The Laredo Animal Protective Society (LAPS) is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization and the only animal shelter in
Laredo, Texas. We are funded through private donations
and contracts with the City of Laredo and Webb County
for impoundment.

LAPS is dedicated to saving as many breeds, mixes, and
species of animals that are fit for adoption as our
facilities can support in a healthy and sanitary
environment. Although we would like to be able to save
every animal that comes here, unfortunately, the pet
overpopulation is too high in Laredo and we do not have
the money to treat sick animals. The sad consequence is
that each animal has a limited amount of time at our
shelter to be adopted, so bring a new friend into your
home today!
